The following are the things you might need for Candle making...
= Wax(paraffin wax, soy wax or bee wax)
= Wick
= Melting system
= Molds(you can use egg shells too.)
= Colour dyes(crayons, any kind of dye, food colors or ink also would serve the purpose
= Oil (preferably coconut) for greasing.
= Glitters, ribbon, flowers for decoration
= Fragrance-herbs like rosemary, lavender, or lemon verbena, different aromatherapy oil, or you can use cooking ingredients like peppermint, vanilla, or spices from the kitchen.
Instructions
1. After you finish collecting all the ingredients for candle making, take a container say saucepan. Fill up the saucepan with water and let the water
2. Put wax inside another container(prefer some metal containers). Now place the container into the saucepan containing water
3. Now boil the water and watch the wax melting in the container.
4. Heat the wax till it reaches to aprox 140 degrees of temperature. In between keep stirring the wax gently using a wooden spoon. Let the complete wax in the container turn to liquid State.
5. When the wax melts down completely, put one teaspoon of fragrance and a teaspoon of color to it. Keep stirring the wax so that the fragrance and color blends up completely.
6. Grease the moulds with the oil.
7. Pour the molten wax inside the mould, allowing a margin of at least one inch on top of the mould
8. Now tie one end of the wick to the middle part of the pencil and gradually drop the other free end of it inside the molten wax.(see to it that the wick is dipped at the right place where you want it to be) Allow the pencil to rest on the top of mould to prevent the whole wick to fall into the wax all at once, as it hardens.
9. To decorate put some glitters on top of the hardening wax.
10. Allow the wax to harden(possibly for about 3-7hrs.)
11. Once the wax gets hardened break open or cut out the mould, if you are using an egg shell or thin plastic dolls for making the candle. And in case you are using a glass or cake mould, then run a sharp thin knife around the inside edges and then tip the mould upside down to slide out the candle.
12. You can further decorative the candle using glitter glues, artificial flowers, wax flowers, sequins etc.
